  1. Early Decisionin 16 days

University of Florida Early Decision application deadline

This is UF's binding Early Decision round, brand new for your entry year. If you apply this way and UF admits you, you're committing to enroll and you have to withdraw your applications everywhere else, so only pick it if UF is clearly your first choice. You apply through the Common App, and you, a parent or guardian, and your school counselor all have to sign the ED agreement. You'll hear back by December 11, 2026, months ahead of everyone else.

If you miss it: Miss it and you lose the earliest decision date UF offers, along with whatever admissions edge ED carries in its first year. You'd fall back to Early Action on November 1 or Regular Decision on January 15. Also note that supporting materials are due October 22, a week after the application itself, and an incomplete file will not be reviewed in this round.

  2. Scholarshipsin about a month

University of Florida merit scholarship priority deadline

There's no separate scholarship form at UF, which is exactly why students miss this. Your admission application by November 1 is what puts you in the merit scholarship pool, so applying Early Action is effectively your scholarship application. Awards range from the $1,000 per year Florida Merit Scholarship up to the $10,000 per year Presidential Platinum Scholarship for in-state students. A committee picks recipients each spring and notifies them by email around mid-March.

If you miss it: Apply after November 1 and you're outside the window UF names for merit consideration, which can mean forfeiting up to $40,000 over four years with no notice that it happened. Because there's no separate application to submit late, there's also no way to fix it afterward.

  3. Early Actionin about a month

University of Florida Early Action application deadline

Early Action is UF's non-binding early round, so you get an early answer without promising to enroll. This is the deadline most UF applicants use, and it doubles as the cutoff for merit scholarship consideration, which makes it the one to aim for even if you're not in a hurry. You'll get your decision by January 22, 2027. Supporting materials, meaning your STARS or transcript and your test scores, are due November 8.

If you miss it: Miss it and you drop to Regular Decision on January 15, which pushes your decision back to March 19. More costly: UF says merit scholarship consideration goes to students who apply by the November 1 priority deadline, so applying later can quietly take you out of the running for money you'd never know you lost.

  4. Depositin about 3 months

University of Florida Early Decision enrollment confirmation and deposit

If UF admits you through binding Early Decision, this is your hard deadline to confirm enrollment in the Gator Portal and pay the non-refundable $200 tuition deposit. It lands in early January, roughly four months before the regular May 1 date, which catches people off guard. You also have to confirm and pay before you can register for Preview, UF's required freshman orientation.

If you miss it: This one is unusually harsh. UF states that an Early Decision admit who does not confirm by this date has their admission cancelled outright, not just delayed. You would lose your place at UF entirely, after having already withdrawn your other applications under the binding agreement.

  5. Regular Decisionin about 4 months

University of Florida Regular Decision application deadline

Regular Decision is UF's final, non-binding application round. You'll get your decision by March 19, 2027, and the outcome can be admit, deny, waitlist, or an offer of one of UF's alternative pathways. Materials are due January 22, a week after the application. If you can realistically be ready by November 1, apply Early Action instead, because Regular Decision applicants fall outside UF's stated merit scholarship priority window.

If you miss it: Miss this and you have no remaining way to apply to UF for fall 2027 as a first-year student. There is no later round and no rolling option for freshman admission to the main campus.

  6. Depositin about 7 months

University of Florida enrollment confirmation and deposit (Early Action and Regular Decision)

If you're admitted through Early Action or Regular Decision, this is when you tell UF you're coming. You confirm enrollment in the Gator Portal and pay the non-refundable $200 tuition deposit unless your fees are waived. Do it before you try to register for Preview, UF's required freshman orientation, because you can't sign up for Preview until the deposit is paid. Housing is separate and is not held for you, so apply for a room as early as you can rather than waiting for this date.

If you miss it: Miss it and you can lose your spot in the entering class, and the deposit is non-refundable once paid so only commit to one school. Waiting until the deadline also hurts you on housing, which UF fills on a first-come basis and does not reserve for first-year students.
