  1. Early Actionin 16 days

University of Georgia Early Action application deadline

This is UGA's non-binding Early Action deadline, which means you can apply early, hear back early, and still compare offers from other schools before you commit. UGA's admissions office says Georgia residents typically get decisions in late November and out-of-state students in early to mid December. Applying EA also puts you in the earliest pool for merit scholarship consideration. You'll need your supporting materials in shortly after, by the October 29 materials deadline.

If you miss it: Miss it and you're pushed to Regular Decision on January 1, waiting until mid-March for a decision and entering a later, more crowded pool for merit scholarship money.

  2. Scholarshipsin about a month

University of Georgia Foundation Fellowship scholarship deadline

The Foundation Fellowship is UGA's top undergraduate scholarship, and it has its own application separate from your admission application. You have to submit your UGA first-year application first before you can start the Fellowship application, so plan on applying Early Action by October 15 and then turning straight to this. Finalists get invited to a mandatory interview weekend in late February. UGA's general merit scholarship offers roll out from December through early April and don't need a separate application.

If you miss it: Miss November 1 and you're out of the running for UGA's most valuable scholarship package for the entire year. There is no late or backup route into the Fellowship competition.

  3. Financial aidin about 3 months

University of Georgia FAFSA priority deadline for need-based aid

This is the one almost nobody tells you about, and it lands weeks before UGA's Regular Decision deadline. UGA gives priority consideration for its limited need-based funds, meaning federal campus-based aid and OSFA scholarships, only to students whose FAFSA is processed by December 15. UGA warns that these funds can run out before everyone in the priority group is even awarded. File the FAFSA as early as you can and list UGA's federal school code, 001598.

If you miss it: File after December 15 and you drop out of the priority pool for UGA's limited need-based grants and scholarships. That money is first-come and can be gone entirely, costing you thousands a year in aid you would otherwise qualify for.

  4. Regular Decisionin about 3 months

University of Georgia Regular Decision application deadline

This is UGA's final first-year application deadline for fall entry. Decisions are typically released in mid-March, and this is also the pool that deferred Early Action applicants fall into. Your supporting documents, including transcripts and any test scores, are due by the January 15 materials deadline. If you want to be considered for the Morehead Honors College, that separate application is also due January 15.

If you miss it: Miss this and you have no path into UGA for fall 2027. There is no later first-year fall deadline, and you'd be waiting a full year or looking at spring entry instead.

  5. Depositin about 7 months

University of Georgia commitment deposit deadline

Once you've been admitted and picked UGA, this is when you lock in your spot by paying the commitment deposit. It's the same date whether you were admitted Early Action or Regular Decision. Pay it through your UGA admission status page, the same portal where your decision was released. Do it before May 1 rather than on the day itself, since housing and orientation scheduling generally follow from it.

If you miss it: Miss it and UGA can release your spot to someone on the waitlist. Losing an offer you already earned over a missed deposit is the most avoidable way to lose a place.
