  1. Early Decisionin about a month

Emory University Early Decision I application deadline

This is Emory's binding first round, and you can apply to Emory College, Oxford College, or both with one application. If Emory admits you and the aid package makes it affordable, you're committing to enroll and withdraw your other applications. You'll get a decision by December 15, which is the fastest answer Emory offers. Only choose this plan if Emory is clearly your top choice.

If you miss it: Miss this and your earliest remaining option is Early Decision II on January 1, which pushes your decision to mid-February. You also lose the admissions bump that Emory's earliest binding round tends to carry.

  2. Scholarshipsin about 2 months

Emory University Scholars Program merit scholarship deadline

Emory Scholars is the university's merit award program, and it carries money plus academic enrichment and a cohort community. To be considered you have to submit your Common Application by November 15 and opt in, whichever decision plan you pick. Note that if you're applying Early Decision I your application is already due November 1, which is earlier. Awards aren't finalized until early April, so if a merit scholarship will decide whether you can attend, Emory itself advises applying Regular Decision rather than binding yourself early.

If you miss it: Submit after November 15 and you're out of the merit scholarship pool entirely for the year. You can still be admitted, but with need-based aid only.

  3. Financial aidin about 2 months

Emory University Early Decision I financial aid materials deadline

If you apply Early Decision I and need aid, your CSS Profile, IDOC tax documents, and FAFSA all have to be in by this date. Emory begins releasing aid packages in December 2026, so filing on time is what lets you see your actual cost before your binding deposit comes due in January. Because ED I is binding, you're agreeing to enroll before you can compare offers elsewhere, which makes getting this package on schedule the only real financial protection you have.

If you miss it: File late and you may be asked to commit to a binding agreement without knowing what Emory will actually cost you. Late materials can also delay or shrink your award.

  4. Early Decision IIin about 3 months

Emory University Early Decision II application deadline

Early Decision II is Emory's second binding round and it shares the January 1 date with Regular Decision, but it commits you to enroll if admitted. You'll hear back by February 15 instead of April 1, so it's a way to get a firm answer earlier. Emory explicitly allows you to apply ED I somewhere, get denied, then apply ED II here. Pick this only if Emory is your first choice by January.

If you miss it: Miss January 1 and there is no later round to fall back on for fall 2027 entry, since Regular Decision closes the same day.

  5. Regular Decisionin about 3 months

Emory University Regular Decision application deadline

This is Emory's standard nonbinding round and the one most applicants use. You can apply to Emory College, Oxford College, or both on a single application, and if you're admitted to both you choose which campus to attend. Decisions arrive by April 1, which leaves you free to compare admission and aid offers from other schools before deciding. You can also apply Early Decision to one Emory campus and Regular Decision to the other.

If you miss it: Miss January 1 and you're out for fall 2027 entry. Emory has no rolling or late round for first-year applicants.

  6. Financial aidin about 3 months

Emory University Early Decision II financial aid materials deadline

Applying Early Decision II means your CSS Profile, IDOC tax documents, and FAFSA are due January 6, just five days after your application. That is a tight turnaround over the winter holidays, so start gathering tax documents in December rather than after you submit. Emory starts releasing ED II aid packages in February 2027, ahead of your March 1 deposit.

If you miss it: Because ED II is binding, missing this leaves you owing a commitment to Emory without a finalized aid package in hand. Late filing can also reduce your award.

  7. Depositin about 4 months

Emory University Early Decision I enrollment deposit deadline

If Emory admits you Early Decision I, this is when your binding commitment turns into money. You pay the admission deposit and withdraw your other applications. If you applied ED to both Emory College and Oxford College and were admitted to only one, you deposit at that campus; if admitted to both, you have until this date to pick.

If you miss it: Failing to deposit on a binding Early Decision admission puts your offer at risk and breaks the ED agreement, which other colleges can be notified about.

  8. CSS Profilein about 4 months

Emory University CSS Profile deadline (Regular Decision)

Emory requires the CSS Profile, not just the FAFSA, to consider you for its own need-based grant money. Emory's CSS Profile code is 5187. After you submit it you'll get instructions to upload signed federal tax forms, W2s, 1099s and related schedules to the College Board IDOC service, and those documents are due on the same date. The Profile costs $25, but College Board fee waivers are available to eligible first-year students.

If you miss it: Skip the CSS Profile and you are simply not considered for Emory-funded need-based grants, no matter what your FAFSA says. That is the difference between federal loans and Emory grant dollars.

  9. Financial aidin about 4 months

Emory University Regular Decision financial aid materials deadline

If you apply Regular Decision and want need-based aid from Emory, your CSS Profile, IDOC tax documents, and FAFSA are all due February 10, 2027. This one falls after your January 1 application, so it is easy to submit your application and then forget the aid piece entirely. Emory begins sending Regular Decision aid packages in April 2027, alongside admission decisions. Emory also runs an Emory Advantage program covering tuition for families under a published income threshold, but you only qualify by filing these forms.

If you miss it: Missing this can delay your aid package past the point where you can compare offers, or reduce the grant aid you're offered. Need-based Emory grants are the largest single lever on your actual cost.

  10. Depositin about 7 months

Emory University Regular Decision enrollment deposit deadline

If you're admitted Regular Decision, this is the day you have to commit and pay your deposit. May 1 is the national reply date, so it's also the deadline at most other colleges you're comparing. Use the weeks between your April 1 decision and this date to compare actual aid packages, not sticker prices. If you were admitted to both Emory College and Oxford College, this is when you choose.

If you miss it: Miss it and you can lose your spot in the class, and Emory can release it to a waitlisted applicant.
